Royal Botanic Garden – Edinburgh

Less than 2 kilometres from the city centre, the Royal Botanic Garden, with its 72 acres, represents for visitors an island of peace and quietness in the middle of a stunning context. The garden, founded in 1670, is said to be one of the most amazing in the whole world, hosting the rarest and finest plants that can be found on earth.

Inside the garden it is possible to make an eco world tour, with visit to the gorgeous greenhouse (Glasshouse), as well as the tallest palm-tree of England, and the award-winning art gallery at the Inverleith House. And also, you can relax on the Chinese Hill, explore the famous Rock Garden, or admire the majestic bulk of a giant sequoia in Woodland Garden.

The garden is open all year round, and offers a rich calendar of events, exhibitions and guided tours. At the shop it is possible to choose amidst a wide choice of gifts, objects of local manufacture, and of course, plants. Finally, at the Terrace Café cold or hot dishes for all tastes are served every day.
